RC3 Science of Humanity
As the largest humanitarian network in the world, the Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement produces and engages with a vast body of research aimed at guiding effective, principled, and forward-looking humanitarian action.
While diverse knowledge-production models exist across National Societies and other RCRC research entities, the way these models are operationalised, along with their strengths and challenges, are not systematically documented. In parallel, research practices and policies are evolving fast, particularly the growing use of Artificial Intelligence which is
not well understood within the humanitarian context.
The RC3 Science of Humanity project aims at addressing these knowledge gaps by mapping and analyzing existing RCRC research practices, knowledge-production models, and the use of AI and other digital tools. In accordance with Strategy 2030 of the IFRC, the aim of this project is to improve the accessibility, uptake, and integrity of evidence across the Movement and to strengthen National Societies' research capacities, trust and accountability.
